Biography

Michielle “Michi” DJ Beck grew up in the desert southwest, and has worked as a freelance writer since 1994, taking on that role exclusively in 2000 when she quit her ‘day job’ to write full time. During her career she has written on a myriad of subjects including economics, technology, local happenings, and human interest stories for Florida newspapers under various pen names, including two papers where she was responsible for an entire page of information every week. She now writes almost exclusively for the Internet market. Her personal storm story about Hurricane Ivan can be found on the weather page of About.com, and she has written other content for that site, as well.

She provides content work for several Internet companies and serves as one of the founding members of the Editorial Board of an Internet company called Your Information Center. The company, which has now been in business for several years, provides free reports and information for consumers on everything from house plants to job searches. Michi has been active with the company since its creation and plays a role both as an editor and a writer. Her profile with the company can be found on the company’s 'about us' page.

Michi is currently working on her first novel, which is almost complete, and her first nonfiction book, Sorry, I Thought I Loved You, is represented through The Swetky Literary Agency. She enjoys both fiction and non-fiction writing, and often takes the time to write about the smaller things in life, as she believes that many of those things have spiritual lessons behind them that most people do not realize.

Her hobbies include music, reading, and writing. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Administration, a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, and a Master's Degree in English Literature and is a life member of Mensa, the high IQ society. Michi lives in Navarre, Florida.
